A Michigan Bat Removal Infographic –

As we have looked over several different areas of bat infestations, we thought it would be good to inform our readers just how to get bats out of their houses.

As you can see from the list, attic infestations are by far the most common. The reason for this is two-fold:

  • Bats like dark and undisturbed areas
  • Bats need warmth during cold winter months

As you can guess, this leads to additional issues when spring arrives. When someone calls asking how to get rid of bats, the first question we have is in regard to the location of their issue. Inevitably we also take a look at our calendar and predict trends. One trend is the increase in calls come the first warm day in spring.

Now, here in Michigan, “warm” is a bit subjective. Basically anything above 30 is short-wearing weather. But as soon as bugs start flying, bats consequently start flying as well. So after a long winter from sleeping in your attic, they begin to migrate outside to feed. They return at night and digest all the bugs they have consumed and the guano begins to build up.

This is why it is important to identify the main points the bats are entering in. We thought we would put together a quick infographic to help you learn how to get rid of bats.
